Attention Brisbane Gaming Community: There could be a new extreme gaming business setting up shop in the Brisbane suberbs.....but we need your help. THE IDEA: Are you a bit bored of gaming online all the time? Tired of hanging out with complete strangers over an Internet connection? Imaging a warehouse-style location with several multi-station rooms set-up for "LAN Meets" or "LAN Parties", where you and a dozen of your mates can spend a matathon 24hrs gaming with the best internet connections and gaming equipment on offer today. Would that be something you'd participate in?....If so, please read on. THE BUSINESS: We want to start small, so as to satisfy the core-gamers that dedicte time to the activity. Maybe a game-room with 10 personal game-stations, as well as a 14, 18 and a maximum room of 24 game-stations. One room will be open-bookings for any number of people on a first-come-first-served basis until full, so it will be made-up of individuals, with a maximum group booking of 4 people. The others will be group-bookings only but with a 24hr standby for smaller groups if seats are unsold prior to the start of the marathon. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: This is the market research part. We need you, the gaming community, to tell us what you want, how you want it and how much you are willing to pay for this service. Please only nominate what YOU would be happy having in terms of services, equipment and cost. We need advice on the following: - What equipment would you like to see? (All will be high-spec)
- PC's
- Playstation
- Wii
- Xbox
- Nintendo 365
- Handhelds: PSP, Nintendo DS (for chill-out zones)
- What group-sizes appeal to you? 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24?
- How long would you like the marathon to last?
- What other services would you like to have?
- Drinks (energy-drinks, water, coffee, tea etc)
- Confectionary (energy-bars, potato-chips, chocolate bars etc)
- Food (chips, chicken, burgers etc)
- Standard Internet kiosks
- Showers
- TV area (inc music)
- What days would you like these events to occur? (Monday-Sunday)
- Finally, for a standard 24hrs of gaming, assuming all of the above suggestions were available on-site and you could game with all your mates in a hassle-free entertainment mega-complex, what price would you be willing to pay?
