Private Piano Lessons

 

 

Matthew first began playing the piano when he was 3 years old, and had achieved his Grade 8 AMEB by the age of 12. At the age of 13, he was awarded a scholarship to train at the Australian Institute of Music under the tutelage of Professor Victor Makarov. He achieved his LmusA at the age of 16. One of the highlights of his young performing career was being invited to perform alongside piano legend David Helfgott at his fundraiser concert in 2004.

 

Matthew has had extensive classical training, building strong technical skills which can be applied to a range of styles and genres. He has since then applied his skills to accompaniment, composition, performance in classical and contemporary spheres, and teaching.
