ACS PIGNIC IN THE PARK 2009!

Teralba Park, Everton Park QLD.
Cnr of Pullen and Osborne Roads.
The Australian Cavy Sanctuary (ACS) will be hosting their third annual animal awareness event and family fun day “Pignic in the Park” at Teralba Park in Everton Park. This annual event aims to raise awareness of current animal welfare issues including the correct care of small animals. It will be attended by many organisations with similar aims.In 2008 1000's of Animal lovers and Animal awareness supporters attended the event and in 2008 the event attracted interstate pet lovers.
If you have adopted a guinea pig through ACS or support the ACS cause we would love to see you on the day!
On the day there will be a massive Guinea Pig Pignic on the parklands where members of the public are invited to bring their Guinea Pigs to the park for the event. In prvious years hundreds of small pets have come to the event with their families. Bring your guinea pig playpen/shelter along, food and water for your piggies and join in the fun! (please visit event website for Guinea Pig health and safety guidelines). Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash and watched by their owner at all times. Pet rats and mice are also welcome!
The theme for 2009 is a Halloween Theme and members of the public are invited to fancy dress for the day (optional)! Their will be prizes for the best Halloween decorated guinea pig playpen and pet on the day!
Their will be educational and fun games for the kids among other educational displays including the highlight for the day at 1.30pm the Guinea Pig food eating contest, sac races, and bush dancing!
On the day Irish Folk/Australian band “Black Heather” will be performing and their will also be many pet themed and product stalls, food stalls, jewellery, second hand and market stalls, Jumping Castle for the kids, kids coloring competitions, face painter, ACS Mascot, Christmas and Halloween family Photos with or without your pets, raffles, educational speakers on stage, activist/educational displays, food and a sausage sizzle to raise funds for ACS.
Some stallholders attending the 2009 Pignic include: The Pet Cafe, RSPCA QLD, Animals Australia, Tropical-Sno, Pet homes and accessories (for all your small pet/bird/rat/guinea pig needs including housing), Pigalicious guinea pig beds, Puddin Pigs Products for guinea pigs, several small animal vet Specialist stalls, Natural Animal Care, ACS Massive stall setup with imported and handmade guinea pig and small pet accessories, beds, badges etc, Michelle's Jewellery Stall, Second Hand Stalls, Oz rodent and rat club of qld, Precious Pets Photography and lots more!
All ACS Shelter Managers will be attending this years event including all QLD and Victoria ACS Shelter Managers.
The event is a very unique family day out and one not to miss! If you love animals and love to have a wonderful laid back day out filled with lots of fun and games then this is the event for you!
