The Opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate physiotherapist who is looking for a chance to gain true work/life balance in an organisation that will support your personal development on a weekly basis.
 
 
The Hospital: Our client is one of the largest hospitals in provincial Queensland with 425 beds, offering the entire range of public hospital services.  They are a progressive and well-resourced organisation with a strong management structure in place.
 
 
The Job: Their motivated team of 35 Physiotherapists is well managed, cohesive and supportive, with a strong focus on training with two hours per week scheduled for continuing professional development.  There is a good mix of experience and skills within the team including five other outpatient/MSK physiotherapists so it is a great place to learn new skills and offer your own training and advice to peers.
 
 
Location: Located on the Queensland coast, this small city combines the lure of the tropics with the excitement and convenience of a major city. As a gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, tourists and diving enthusiasts travel here from all over the world and the city caters for them with palm fringed shopping arcades, lush rainforests, weekend markets, historic buildings and beautiful beaches all within very close proximity. With its marvellous climate, it manages to retain a country town feel and promises a laid back lifestyle despite its size, copious amenities and activities.  This could all be yours to enjoy!
 
 
Experience Required: There is a vacancy for a locum physiotherapist with at least two years post qualification MSK experience from a private practice or public hospital background. The successful candidate must be able to function autonomously on a variety of complex MSK cases including trauma and elective surgery patients as well as a large amount of hand patient cases, caused by overuse, fractures, digital amputations and burns.  Their locum requirement is for two months from January to February 2010 but there is also a potential permanent vacancy.
 
 
The salary package: For the locum role the salary will range from $30 - $38ph + super depending on experience plus eligibility to use the subsidised shared accommodation on the hospital grounds.
