An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lawyer to join this leading Native Title body based in Brisbane. Bring together your legal and management experience to achieve real outcomes for Indigenous people in Queensland.

In this dynamic role, you will be part of historic actions to secure Native Title rights for the traditional landowners of Queensland.Your focus will include determinations of Indigenous land and water or compensation claims.

/p>

This will involve negotiation with stakeholders, legal research, advice, and policy submissions on native title and related issues. Reporting to the Principal Legal Officer and supervising Legal Officers and Claims Coordinators, you will be working in a multidisciplinary team of solicitors, anthropologists and community liaison staff.

This role will suit you if you:

• have 5 years post-admission experience, with at least 2 years in Native Title litigation
• are willing to undertake field trips as required
• are eligible to be admitted in Queensland and the High Court of Australia
• have demonstrated experience managing financial and staff resources
• have mediation and dispute resolution skills
• understand Indigenous cultures and traditions.
