Residential Services Officer

Permanent Part Time – four (4) hours per day/five (5) days a week

Days – Monday to Friday with an occasional Saturday

Hours needed – 2.00pm – 6:00pm

Toowong Student Residence is located close to the centre of Toowong and caters to university students from Australia and overseas. There are 68 single rooms with shared facilities. The evening meals are prepared on-site and food provided for the students to cater their own breakfast, lunch and snacks.

A staff member is required to assist the manager in maintaining the residence to the current high standard. The duties will consist of a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:

Basic office duties
Occasional Kitchen work, including relief cooking (only sick relief or as agreed)
Assisting with cleaning when required

Requirements

Demonstrated experience/ability in an office environment
Able to reconcile accounts
Demonstrated ability in written and oral interpersonal/communication skills
Demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work autonomously, prioritise work effectively and accept supervision where necessary
Understand “process” and can work well with details and follow up
Knowledge of, and ability to apply, workplace health and safety principles
An understanding of and empathy with the Christian faith, and ethos of the Salvation Army

Desirable however not required

Computer hard drive skills, networking, trouble shooting
Website updates and designs

Although a person with relevant experience in all fields would be preferred the Manager is prepared to consider applications from interested persons with experience in certain fields and a positive attitude and a desire to learn new skills.
