The Central Asian Ovcharka pups are by an imported Russian sire 
 
The pups are from a quality native dog background.  They carry the ancient CAO bloodlines that has endeared the Cenral Asian Ovcharka to their owners for thousands of years.  These are working dogs with a strong and stable temperament that would also make a loyal pet for the whole family.  

The Central Asians have a stable temperament due to more than 3000 years of breeding. They are intelligent dogs with a naturally caring disposition and when trained are more than willing to watch over family, animals and property.  CAO's are Livestock Guardian Dogs that are especially gentle with older people and children.

Training is a simple matter of introducing these dogs to people, animals or property and allowing them to gain a natural acceptance of their surroundings. Their temperament and natural intelligence will do the rest.

The Central Asian is a useful addition to any large block and they will happily coexist with and also protect poultry, sheep, goats etc. We have two cats that are looked after like they are their own pups. We also have guinea fowl that roam freely and sleep out in the open even though we are in fox and wild dog country. We often see foxes in broad daylight within 300 Metres of the house yet the guinea fowl remain untouched.

Female weights will range around the 50 kg while males can range upwards around 60 or 70kg and more.  The Central Asians are not big eaters and therefore not overly expensive to keep.  If overfed they have a tendency to become obese.  They are not suited to unit dwelling and best suited to the larger block.

The Central Asians are especially vigilant in patrolling their territory at night. They will often swap roles ensuring that one remains on guard close by while the other is out patrolling a wider section of the property.
